To support the Restorative Justice Filmmaking Program, where young people impacted by the juvenile justice system will be trained to use filmmaking to share their stories.
To amplify the voices of youth impacted by the carceral system as they share their stories, in order to change community perspectives around responses to harm and violence committed by young people.
To support the Ginger Arts Center, an intergenerational "third space" for youth in Chinatown to document community stories through art and oral histories and learn collective organizing alongside community elders.
To strengthen the No Arena in Chinatown campaign by creating and distributing videos and print media, and training young leaders to support multigenerational, multicultural, and multilingual narratives.
To continue developing and implementing IDEA’s Community Voices local news program with podcasts, bi-monthly zines and a vlog, and increasing skills training for careers in the media.
Supplemental funding for general operations to support Big Picture Alliance's work to empower Philadelphia youth to define their own narrative through filmmaking & digital media arts.
To support the Student Mediamaker Fund, which funds film projects led by promising local student filmmakers enrolled in higher education or affiliated with a media education organization.
To continue strengthening a network of organizations working in youth media across Philadelphia, and provide young media makers with professional development opportunities.
