Via the 2020 Community Voice grant, PhillyCAM will offer a virtual Latinx Multimedia Reporting Fellowship in Fall 2020 to train 12 Latinx producers in multimedia reporting skills and build stronger bridges for content distribution and collaborative production among the expanding network of new initiatives supporting and amplifying local Latinx stories and information. During the Fellowship participants will work in teams to produce stories for distribution on PhillyCAM television, radio, online and on other local Spanish language platforms. The opportunity will be available to emerging journalists and community media producers looking to sharpen their skills or explore a new medium.

This six-month planning grant will support research and planning for a new television and radio broadcast series inspired by WYBE's signature series, Philadelphia Stories. In conjunction with exploring a relaunch of the series, PhillyCAM will strengthen its mentorship role, bolstering its role as a community connector and network builder for diverse local media makers and producers.

Through the 2021 Digital Equity grant, the Equity Project will provide Kensington's majority Black and brown community with access to state of art technology and broadband internet, the skill-building and knowledge needed to navigate digital content and technology, and the media grassroots organizing tools to empower community members, youth and old, to be leaders and advocates for their families and community.
