COVID-19 Emergency Fund to 2019 Grantees.

The 2020 Community Voices grant supports 2Puntos' collaboration with Philatinos Media to produce twelve stories about how the work, dreams, and goals of Philadelphia's Latinx community have been impacted by COVID-19. These stories will highlight how the community survives the challenges of COVID-19 from its own experience and Latino culture.

This two-year grant is for operating support that will help 2Puntos take steps toward becoming a nonprofit, expand their network on social media and Spotify, and upgrade the website.

This one-year grant will support the “Voces de Oro” reporting project that will include Spanish-language podcasts, a graphic novel, and a “Know Your Rights” video series for Puerto Rican and Dominican communities being pushed out of Kensington, Norris Square, and North Philly by gentrification.

To increase the visibility and understanding of the diverse Asian American communities in Philadelphia and their strengths, challenges and histories through a year-long feature series of journalistic work about post-COVID reopening, sourced from grassroots networks and community leaders. The work will be published in the English, Chinese and Vietnamese platforms of New Mainstream Media, with cross-publishing opportunities in English language media.

The 2021 Community Voices grant will support the distribution of a free community journal, published in Arabic and English, that amplifies culture from the Southwest Asia and North Africa region, with writers predominantly from the region. Distributing a physical newspaper across Philadelphia (and now Allentown) will put Arabic in public space to be seen and felt.

The 2021 Community Voices Fund will support the creation of a community-led multimedia archive that will highlight arts/culture work for social change by Latinx communities in Philadelphia.

Through the 2021 Community Voices Grant, Manifestando Tus Sueños will utilize various communication tools (digital, visual, written and audio) to advocate for, empower, inspire and educate those who wish to manifest their dreams past their current realities. Through Spanish-language content, Manifestando Tus Sueños will motivate their audience to evolve, create and live up to their maximum potential.

To hire a Digital Navigator who will provide individualized, as well as group instruction, and language specific assistance to close the digital divide among Philadelphia's African and Caribbean immigrant and refugee communities. 2021 Digital Equity Fund recipient.
