The 2020 Community Voices grant will support the creation of the Coatesville Black Media Renaissance (CBMR) project, which will use storytelling and media-making to heal and reconcile race relations in the city of Coatesville. Specifically, CMBR will provide local artists and storytellers a vehicle to amplify community voices through a variety of media platforms such as film, print media, and mural arts to create a community driven media model that activates change against unjust media narratives, policing, and other racist practices that continue to marginalize Coatesville residents.

This two-year grant will provide operating support that will increase the capacity of the Shooters Narrative Shift organization through leadership development, in-person team building, and workshops.

This one-year grant will support a professional digital media skills program for formerly incarcerated individuals.

To amplify voices of people with disabilities impacted by COVID-19.

To create and pilot a digital accessibility program for arts organizations and a accessibility toolkit for nonprofits across Southeastern PA to ensure that their programs and content are accessible to people with disabilities.

For facilitating conversations between media funders during the COVID-19 crisis, and for building relationships with funders new to the media funding field.

A two-year grant to The Colored Girls Museum (TCGM) ($250,000), for general operating support and the promotion and archiving of the stories of Black girls and women. TCGM's mission is to be a public ritual for the protection, praise, and grace of the ordinary extraordinary Black girl.

The 2020 Community Voices grant will support an annual youth program to train black girls and womxn to use VR/AR to create immersive technology storytelling of their experiences. In addition it will provide support for a student-led project for inclusion in their virtual museum, which is set to launch next summer. The program participants will be compensated.
